You might have noticed that we’ve changed some things around here. It’s been some time in the works, and we’re thrilled to tell you about it.
Over the years, we’ve been genuinely invested in our client’s successes and supporting them on the way. We always knew who we were, what we valued, and what we stood for. So did our clients. But, we’ve realised we’ve not been using our voices loud enough.
Since our inception in 2016, the team at Oxford Digital have been on a mission to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in our region. And we’ve stayed purposefully small and focused on being the best at what we did – WordPress development.
We’re proud that, over the years, we’ve built and maintained strong relationships with our clients. We’re equally fortunate to have worked with some of the most creative businesses in this neck of the woods. And to have met so many friendly and talented locals over the years.
Then in 2018, we noticed something wasn’t quite right about the local media portrayal of our beloved county Oxfordshire. Just about each and every day, the front page stories were more or less about crime, pollution, drug abuse, accidents and death. Facts of life, yes, but not the only ones.
After a period of contemplation, we took the plunge and created The Oxford Magazine – a digital magazine with a strong desire to shed light on the positives of our county. Our mission was simple: to encourage and enable people to explore and experience the best our region had to offer, whether they were local, new in town, or just passing through.
Sure enough, we soon reached over 1 million annual page views without spending a penny on marketing. And then something else happened that caught us by surprise. Many small and medium-sized businesses in the region started reaching out for help with their technology and content marketing problems.
These business owners had great ideas but little knowledge, experience, or staff to create and implement effective digital technology strategies. Very few planned and consistently implemented professional digital content marketing activities that capitalised on their data, and the unpredictable and sporadic nature of their digital processes often had little impact on their brand ambitions.
The question then became how to help organisations businesses break this pattern and grow to the next level, especially if they were already aware of how an effective digital technology and content marketing strategy could accelerate their business success.
We assembled an in-house team of experienced professionals and a panel of clients to explore what was required, and what became apparent rather quickly was that to thrive in this ever-changing digital landscape, our clients needed the support of an agency that could bring together the technology, data and operational aspects of organisations.
Fast forward many conversations, and we’ve taken the bold step of expanding our service offering to do just that.
We know what it’s like to own a business and how challenging it can be; we’re a small enterprise too. We’ve had our share of failures, but more importantly, we also know how (and what it takes) to be successful. We’re putting the lessons we’ve learned and experiences we’ve gained into helping our clients do more of what works and avoiding costly mistakes in technology, data and business operations.
Lots of love and care have gone into building our new website, but this is only the beginning. Sure, we’ve kept our signature look and feel, as we thought it beautifully captured our essence and appreciation for design and professionalism. But behind the scenes, we’re working on several fantastic initiatives to build an agency that does more than WordPress websites, one that will help clients use digital technology to grow and thrive sustainably and inclusively.
Watch this space. We hope you can join us on this exciting new stage of in journey.
Best wishes
The Oxford Digital Team
