Support publishing digital content for our media brands.
Location: Remote/Offshore
Job type: Full-time (following a probationary period)
Who we are
Oxford Digital is the team behind several online publications and social media assets, including The Oxford Magazine, a fast-growing website with over two million annual page views that showcases the best of Oxford city and it’s surrounds.
As our digital presence grows, we’re looking for a Digital Content Management Assistant to join our offshore content management team, helping to keep our digital publications updated, accurate, and polished.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will:
- Tidy up already written digital content (articles, news stories, recipes, event descriptions, directory listings, product descriptions, etc.) to meet our editorial content guidelines.
- Write sharp, digital-friendly headlines, summaries, excerpts, descriptions, meta descriptions, and image alt texts for the digital content.
- Select and optimise digital assets – images, video and multimedia assets – to accompany the digital content for SEO purposes.
- Post the content on the website with the selected assets, including adding relevant internal/external links, tags and categories, excerpts, SEO titles, Meta descriptions, etc.
- Generate creative ideas for presenting and promoting the published digital content across our social media channels.
What we’re looking for
- Experience writing and/or editing stories and product descriptions for digital publishing and social media platforms.
- Digital publishing skills needed, including knowledge of creating and managing posts in WordPress CMS and WooCommerce.
- Familiarity with basic image editing tools.
- A broad understanding of SEO and social media and its relationship with/impact on digital content.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Some knowledge of using AI-powered tools for digital content editing.
Please note that you will not be writing/creating content from scratch. Instead, you’ll be assigned already written content to edit and publish to the website.
What we’re offering
- Competitive pay (depending on location), plus a flexible, remote working arrangement.
- Hands-on experience with fast growing online publications and social media assets.
- Opportunities to collaborate with a creative team and develop skills in content publishing, SEO, and digital media.
